How to Unlock the Golden Eagle
The Backrooms With Guns golden eagle unlocks at 1,000,000 kills through Miguel's Special Weapons Shop. That milestone gets you a secondary weapon with a 30-round magazine and increased damage compared with the regular Desert Eagle. Reach the kill requirement, then visit Miguel to unlock it.
This is a substantial jump beyond Miguel's other weapons. His special weapon unlocks give you these milestones along the way:
- M16A2: 5,000 kills.
- G18: 10,000 kills.
- MG42: 100,000 kills.
- Golden Eagle: 1,000,000 kills.
The Golden Eagle requires ten times the kills needed for the MG42. Keep that gap in mind when choosing your next target: reaching the machine gun still leaves a long stretch before the gold handgun.
The same million-kill milestone also has its own badge, 1,000,000 Kills. The weapon and badge share a numerical goal, but Miguel is where you go for the gun.

Golden Eagle vs. Desert Eagle
The gold finish comes with functional upgrades. Both weapons occupy the secondary category, but the Golden Eagle carries considerably more ammunition in its magazine and deals more damage.

| Attribute | Golden Eagle | Desert Eagle |
|---|---|---|
| Shop | Miguel's Special Weapons Shop | Daniel's Weapon Shop |
| Kill requirement | 1,000,000 | 350 |
| Category | Secondary | Secondary |
| Ammunition | Golden .50AE | .50AE |
| Magazine capacity | 30 rounds | 7 rounds |
The magazine difference is 23 additional rounds. That gives you much more room to keep shooting before emptying the magazine, while the regular Desert Eagle remains accessible much earlier.
Unlock the standard Desert Eagle at Daniel's if you want that handgun before reaching Miguel's million-kill requirement. Its 350-kill threshold makes it a separate early target rather than something you need to wait until the end of the grind to use.
Missing Your Weapon After Update 1.2?
If you last played before Update 1.2, your previous weapons will initially be missing from your inventory because the game switched to a new saving system.

For returning players:
- Your kills have been saved.
- Your previous weapon progress has been preserved.
- You can re-equip previously unlocked weapons for free at the weapon shops.
Visit Miguel to re-equip your previously unlocked Golden Eagle. You do not need to earn its million-kill requirement again because your inventory initially appears empty. For weapons from Daniel's shop, return to Daniel instead.
